CATALOGUE RAISONNÉ

PROJECT

Building on the preliminary work of the research center’s founder, dating back to 1989, a substantial body of works has been documented.

The catalogue raisonné is conceived as an ongoing research project and forms the foundation for the scholarly study of August Seidel’s œuvre.

STATE OF RESEARCH

According to current estimates, the artist’s complete body of work is significantly larger than previously recorded. A substantial number of works are held in private collections and are therefore only partially accessible to research.

WORKS WANTED

Previously undocumented paintings and drawings are still being sought in order to complete the catalogue raisonné.

The aim is to document the artist’s complete body of work as comprehensively as possible and to make it accessible for research and the public.
